To climb Aconcagua, you can choose one of the three interesting itineraries we offer:
20-day itinerary, with ascent by classical program. It includes adequate acclimatization, climbs to elevations of 5600 m and descent to base camp for rest.
14-day itinerary, with a shortened two-week program in Alpine style. This program is the most popular despite certain challenges during ascent.
7-day itinerary – the shortest to climb Aconcagua. This program is only for fully acclimatized climbers. Additionally, we offer a combined climb to both Aconcagua and Ojos del Salado.
Aconcagua climb is dreamed of by a lot of newbie climbers (if not by every). And every one of them has a reason of their own. Firstly, this mountain is one of the Seven Summits. And secondly, climbing Aconcagua is a daring and crucial step to take on one’s way toward 6000 and 7000-meter peaks, summiting which is a tipping point in anyone’s climbing experience.
Certainly, people’s opinions on this issue may differ. Nevertheless, summiting Lenin Peak or Muztag-Ata opens a totally new vision of the world, and even a new dimension, even though the difference in these mountains’ heights is as insignificant as a couple of hundred meters.
Aconcagua ascent is not such a challenging task as it may seem at the first glance. It can be handled even by less experienced climbers with sufficient level of skill and fitness. The mountain’s lower slopes are pretty steep and they are rarely covered with snow or ice. This means that both gaining and dropping height is really quite easy.
However, more experienced climbers recommend paying due attention to the organization of overnight camps because of the notorious South-American winds ever present there. When dreaming of climbing Aconcagua, it is crucial to keep in mind that this mountain is not to be trifled with even if it seems to be so easily accessible.
Whatever itinerary you choose to climb Aconcagua, get ready for the ascent in advance. You need physical as well as psychological training. When confident in one’s own abilities, you will be able to handle successfully the challenges on your route and get most out of your climbing experience. And you can always count on the support and encouragement of our professional guides.
